WesBank Raceway Car Club Day

Since its inception WesBank Raceway has always strived to offer motorsport enthusiasts events that they want to see taking place. After meeting with various car clubs from all over Gauteng and getting some valuable feedback, the Raceway will now be hosting two car club day events in 2007. These events will be open to car club members and members of the public alike, and unlike other open days, will allow participants to experience not only the 2.6km and 1.4km road circuits but also to participate in a gymkhana and the enjoy skills training on the skidpan as well. Entrants may queue up and participate as many times as time allows in these different disciplines.

The events should see some friendly club rivalry taking place, and with the wide variety of top class facilities at the participants disposal there is sure to be an event and a challenge for every taste. This is the place to be to settle the GTi vs ST vs GSI debate once and for all.

The first Car Club day will be taking place on Sunday 25 March starting from 10:00 in the morning till 17:00 in the evening.

Entry charge will be a nominal R 200 per driver and R100 for co-drivers.
Spectators can come for free to enjoy what promises to be a fun filled day for car enthusiasts.

Sounds awesome, pity my car won't be able to participate in any events for a while.

I would still like to come through and meet all the other members though, sounds like a really fun day.

Hey Jon, we will have to see if more club members will be there, it would be great if the sx club rocks up as a "CLUB" and let others know we are here even if we don't participate.

Lets wait and see who is interested to meet for the day and show our babies to the rest of the clubs.

I don't think other clubs knows there is a 200SX Club, emagin that. Hope we can change it that day.

Draco, I know what you mean about pitching up as a club, it looked awesome on the 26/1 when the drift club/200sx club pitched up. I just have one problem, if I'm going to be driving whoze going to b documenting?!

Also thanks for whoever thought of the 200sx business cards.Please let me know who I have to thank and then I want to order some with my email address on it.

I saw a purple s13 200sx parked at the doctor today but I didn't have anything with a number/address on to leave for him.

My car is going to be on the road (probably at "low" boost still until small things like brakes/clutches are sorted) by Friday if all works out as planned. Although I also won't be running hard I most certainly can pitch up at all the events.

I'm reconsidering going to Wednesday night's event after all to support Disexy666, officially the fastest S14/S13 until someone can post a faster time.

Where/how should we post times/speeds/results?? Maybe a category and we can have a thread per event or race/track.

I'm sure it will, its still a few weeks away so most people should be able to book the day. I also think we should ask Toby to email everyone in the club because this event sounds like it's going to be big fun, I wish it was for a whole weekend

Maybe people are hesitant to say yes only to find later they have issues with their SX. I hope my car is still running OK by then so I can really push it..the new clutch is going to be smoother by then I'll hopefully not embarrass myself by stalling too often

D666, not sure if you prefer drag/trag/drift/gymkhana but your car seems up to any of those?!!?

Yes it is possible to e-mail everyone on the Forum and let them know about the event. Finalise some details, for example, where should we all meet up and park? Maybe by the drift track, etc? Also, will need to update the website and cell app with the details, then I can send out the mass e-mail.

Ok the guys from Pretoria that want to drive together we all meet at Freddies place at 09h00, from there we collect Toby and then off to wesbank, the joburg guys must make an arrangement or we meet you there.

Guys that have phone numbers of guys that might be interested to join but is not on the forum that much please phone them and let them know.
