New to nissan...
Hi guys..
First of all i would like to say great forum!
Ok so this is wat this is all about!
I just recently got me a 200sx s13 its still has the standard motor in but its got a few problems! so iv done some research and have seen guys fitting a 1jz toyota motor into the car!
what i would like to know is..
1. Is it worth it to fit the 1jz as this is what i can afford
2. Is there a big power diff?
3. Will the original gearbox, diff and all the other stuff work together?
4. Did i buy the right car to drift with and maybe a little drag racing?
Thanks guys!

Hey man welcome to the forum
In my personal opinion i would rather go RB25 than a 1JZ they cost about the same but it at least still carries the Nissan badge and it would be cheaper to put the Nissan motor in than the Toyota one, because the intake plenum is on the opposite side of the engine than with the Nissan one.
And to answer your question yes there will be a power difference the standard CA18DET produces 124kw at the fly and the RB25DET produces 169kw at the fly.
Another route you can take is to get a SR20DET motor which has 147kw

rbswop
hey search this site first and see what the guys that have done this swop have spent.buying the motor is not the problem getting it in and running there is were the budget gets blown to hell.a Rb25 fatbox( you want the fat one) is round about 6k minimum. plus your motror lets say 8.5k, now non of your old stuff from the CA will work .You will need managment, intercooler, piping etc getting someone(reliable) to fit it for you.if you gonna go the 2jz its probaly the morepowerful motor but you will still need a new box.supra box are k@k dier, and scarse but you can use a cheaper 21R box with a matching bell houseing , be prepared to pay more for the bell housing than the 21R. your prop willneed to be modified to adapt either way .remember this is all just the stuff you have to buy, never mind still the stuff that will make the install better, like changing cambelt, oilpump, water pump and the rb pumps dont come cheap but the 2jz stuff can be had over the counter at toyota probably for cheaper.make a list (a long one) at what you think you need and get some prices,it will quickly blow you mind.....dont be deterd a 6potter in a sx always a good idea but be prepared. owe and now you gonna have some more waight in the front a set of coilovers will help and them pupies go for around 8.5k (on this fourum BCcoilovers)good luck mate keep us informed and post some pics
sideways forever....

If you are looking to put either a RB25 or a 1JZ in the car you are going to look at more than R10k because you have to buy the engine & gearbox, engine mounts, front cross member, ecu then you have to get the wiring sorted out propshaft checked if it will still work exhaust has to be modded to fit and your clocks need to be calibrated.
Don't take me wrong i am not saying give up what what you can mod your current CA18 and get 200kw from it maybe even more if you have more cash to spend

No one wants the CA anymore? Best bang for buck is the SR20. If you want a cost break down of a RB25 look at my project and I am no where near finished
