I am definately up for this!! This weekend's silverstone event was amazing! There's no way I'm missing out on the Durban event.

BTW, the Nissan GTR won the event after the first and second placed Aston Martins were handed disqualification/penalty. Well done Sumo Power!!

Don't know the details yet. I am guessing that it will be an A1-style street race near Sun Coast. Regardless, I'll be booking my accommodation ASAP. I might take the SX if it's up to the task, although it will need some TLC before that.

BTW, if you guys are interested in following the FIA GT championship, go check out http://gt1world.com for all the info plus videos of the two races so far. Also, check out http://www.speedhunters.com for some excellent photographic coverage as well as general car pornography. I used up all my bandwidth watching the streaming videos from the GT1 TV (not to be confused with the steamy videos from a porn site!).

dont mean to be the profit of doom...but i highly doubt this is gonna happen .. well atleast not on the same track as the Durban A1. With the amount of serious road alterations they're currently busy with for the 2010 soccer world cup :( really sux.. i want to watch/hear a GT GTR skylines more than anything :(

Though maybe this will finally spark the need for a permanent track in Durban :) :) .. doubt it :(... life sux!

It is on the GT1 calender so I can only hope they know more than us...

Its not a hoax, it is on the FIA calendar.
The problem is the Thekweni (Durban) Municipality don't seem to either know or care about it, and seeing as they have recently redone all the roads where the A1 pits were to put the islands back and plant palm trees and such it doesn't look to me like they will flatten everything again in a few months time.

One can only hope that after the world cup someone there is keen to host a major international event like this, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I think they are more involved in teh SWC so this has to take back seat for a while, after the SWC it will come up and they will once again get the ball rolling.

If its on the FIA calender it is all go for the event and the organisers do know about it.
