My buddy in Witbank is looking for an S13 - but on +- R40K and he also needs to sell his bike first. So I'll give him a shout.

Cool, thanks man.

R45k is the best I can do. Already got offers around the R40k mark.

My homeloan has been approved and I need a deposit like yesterday.

I'm sorry to say but I doubt you'll get R45k unless you're prepared to wait for the right buyer. If you need an urgent sale you're gonna have to accept around R35k to R40k max.

Good luck anyway.

@ Guy : everybody's entitled to their own opinion. Sensible people will pay for quality. It doesn't make sense to buy a car for R35k-R40k and still spend another R20k to get it in reasonable shape, when you can just buy one like mine with a valid C.O.R.

If it doesn't get sold, maybe it was meant for me, so...

Howzit Gary,

Like I told you before, you can see the car anytime you want to, if you're prepared to drive to Phoenix.

Didn't get a chance to bring the car to work yet, maybe I'll bring it tomorrow.

I bought mine for R35k in good shape with COR, then blew a water pipe and the engine.

So far in rebuilding it I've spent more than I paid for the car, but once its running I doubt I'd be able to get more than the R35k I paid for it. But then I bought it to play with not to try make money with. Fact is cars are not a good asset and at this point in time 200SX's aren't worth more than R35K.

As time goes on and more get turned into race cars or drifters, note a lot of them recently in Speed and Sound etc, then perhaps a good clean unmodified one may go up in value.

Until then, good luck.

It allways amazes me how everytime someone advertises their SX , someone has an opinion on how they won't get there advertised price for their cars..... I decided to advertise my '92 S13 yesterday for the hell of it for R50 000 and it was sold last night, much to my dismay , I am extremely heartbroken this morning , but oneday I will own a SX or a Z car again.

My buddy advertised his '92 for R65 000 and the guys on this forum said , "he won't get that price , but good luck" , the car was sold a week later for R65 000.

Just some useless info for you

:)

@ Andrew : I've also noticed that ''trend''.
I always think that if you've got nothing good to say, don't say anything.

@ Guy : Like Andrew, I also know of quite a few guys that have got their price for their cars. Maybe your particular car is not worth more than R35k, but you cannot generalise. I wouldn't count on your car being the Benchmark.
By the way I do have quite a few offers now. Will obviously accept the best one. Will let you know how much I got for it. Until then, keep your comments to yourself or give them to your friends.

Great to know guys are getting good prices, better for everyone who still ownes a SX to know its value is not that low. Book values are realy low, even worse on early S13's.

Unfortunately thats not how a public forum works. Everyone has the right to state their opinion. If you don't like my opinion, well tough.
Other people looking to buy a car may see me as doing them a favour by pointing out the real value of the cars, so avoiding paying too much.

Well good luck to you if you get your price.

When I first joined here I was looking for a car around R35k and everyone then was saying you'll never find one, and trying to ask R50k for theirs. Well I waited a bit and found a good one local to me for exactly R35k, since then I've seen others go for that price and even less.

I've never said yours wasn't worth what you want for it, but without pics or mention of mileage to show proof of mint original condition then one can only assume a true value of around about R35K, which is actually sllightly over book value iirc.
That being the case a lot of people will not pay R45K for a car that insurance is only going to insure for R30K.
