Well its relatively easy fitting them your self. Not sure where you can fit them in Durban though, look in the yellowpages.co.za for a brake/clutch place in DBN.
Depenging on the use of your car the type of pad you fit is quite important
* ATE's: Cool if your hardly ever speed and your a grandma driver, excessive fade when hot.
* Ferodo's Normal: Good they also fade quickly though.
* Ferodo's Cermaics: My choice but very hard on rotors, can even handle some track abuse.
* EBC Green Stuff: Very good, just overpriced (Never tried)
* HAWK's HPS: One of the best street/semi-track pad out there, recommended by big manufactures like DBA Australia, Powerbrake SA
* Project MU: Good but very soft bite action (Never tried)
* Bosh: I don't like'mmm by budy swears by them after they didn't fade while doing 7 or so laps around Zwartkop.
Then there is hundreds of no name brands out there... I'd stay away, to give you an idea, I killed a set of No-Name pads in a week with my Polo, those thingd fade so bad that when I got to my driveway in the evenings my disks where glowing and I had zero brakes, that obviously killed the rotors, changed rotors fitted some Ferordo Ceramics... It's been 4 months they still holding out.

I really hope you mean Ferodo Platinums as in my experience the ceramics are real crap that will destroy your discs.

when i had ATE's my worst experience was the constant squealing of the brakes. they would squeal loudly when not in use, and gently when the peddle was pushed.
i could change the tone of the squeal with the force that i pushed the brake pedal down, and this happened on 4 different vehicles.
i gave those pads 4 chances on 4 different vehicles, and on the last one i vowed never to use them again!!!
lately i installed ferodo platinum on my sx, and ferodo premium(?)on my xtrail, and i am very impressed. no noise at all, and excellent road use stopping power.
haven't track tested though!

I still have ATE's on my SX now... Was looking for a quick replacement since I knew I was going to fit the Z32 brakes in 2 or 3 weeks... But ended up not been able to fit them

sorry for the hijack!!!
is that the rear brakes from z32?
what are your issues there, cos i will face them too soon!!! i've got the calipers, and the fronts are just a question of money for discs and pads, but for the rears i will need bigger discs, but i want to retain my handbrake mechanism!
