300zx Update
Alo Ha,
Did a complete rebuild on the Z. Thought Id update some Z fans here. Never imagined selecting rings and bearings for a car could be such a challenge. Because it is a race spec engine, you have to order individual bearings for each journal using numbers stamped all over the block. You have to put together some formular and contact NASA to decipher the crap before ordering. I tried measuring tolerances with a dial gauge and there were hardly any differences between sizes. Best of all, entire bottom end main caps are one piece. Got more confidence now to up the boost and sign up for the next Copenhagen get together.
Gas Flowed Heverythin...including the aircon ventilation ducts.
New Stainless Steel tubular manifolds
Engine Detailing(orange battery gots to go)
Changed Instrumention Look
From This
To This
Some New Digial Instrumention(left) One Screen, Many gauges. I can even hook up a review camera
Swop Screens and Gauges with a click of a button
Solid Engine Mounts.
740cc Nismo Injectors.
More than enough for my kinda power and piece of mind.
Wideband AFR Conversion on both Banks with Analogue simulation.
Much more accurate and a lot more fuel efficient if you not killing the car.
Hook up laptop and car can produce its on map with targeted AFRs using some nice software
Tein Coilovers with electronic adjustment controller. 16 Way. Dropped the sucker low.
Clear Side Markers
Did a 35% Tint
Result:
Car feels much strong with same amount of boost and alot more torque and according to logs it running 12-15% cooler when pushing it hard. Think the gas flowing and the Wideband conversion played a major role. Still breaking in the engine with some cheap motor oil so cant really kill it or dyno.

Hey SuperBaas, very nice 300 you have there, what are the specs on your motor? Nice to see a 300 on this forum as I sold my 200sx recently and bought a 300zx which has been my realistic dream car for ages. I am in the process of rebuilding the motor which is basically stripped down atm and waiting for spares to arrive. I have gone for JE pistons and Eagle rods as I need to rebore and it was cheaper to go for piston/rod combo that only pistons. Where are you based?
Cheers

Specs
Thanks, im in JHB. Specs:
Engine
Stocks pistons and Rods. Believe me, no need to touch this motor if you not going above 650hp. The Bonneville speed record with a Z32 for a road going car was done with stock crank, rods and oversized stock pistons. 420kph Mr Veyron and the Record still stands.

Everything Flowed and Ported.
740cc Nismo Injectors
All uneccessary crap deleted and simplified
Turbos
GT28R
Nistune
Shit load of other small things.

?
Thanks. Most welcome Duane. Gauge is PLX. Cost is around 6k imported with most sensor modules. I needed 2 wideband controllers because of the twin config, so it might be cheaper depending on the amount of sensors you want to monitor.

Split downpipes
Update:
Fitted specialityz super split downpipes and damn they make a huge diff on low down torque. This is no doubt the best mod i did on this Z. Makes the car so much fun to drive and the launch with racelogic is out of this world. I can build up 5 psi more boost off the line at the same RPM. I want to launch the car at every opportunity. Should have done this a long time ago!
If you have a T28 type flange..divorce the flange..you wont regret it!
