Headlight

So....I've had a problem since I got the S13.....
the right hand side(driver) headlight works, when you put it on bright it goes off, the left hend one works fine, I checked fuses and all....unless there is fuses or relays I don't know about....checked the manual....but I am not a electrical picture boffen......so that did not help me at all...
help?

I thaught it was.....but it wasn't, normal light works, as soon as you go bright it dies.....just the one....

If you go to bright does the blue light on the cluster come on?

No the blue light does not and I have tried changing the globe....

Had this problem on my S14,Took it to the auto elec and my SWITCH was faulty,These cars are complicated and run parellel on the switch for the lights(or somthing like that
)
He fixed it while i was waiting,Thought i was going to have to buy another switch but its simple if you know what you doing
I dont thats why my local Auto elec helped me.

Derek, my sx is exactly the same...call me on this one, yes we need to open that switches again.last time around it was the dash lights off.

Ok....I have sorted it.....
If you take the whole switch out there is the almost see through cover on the back, take it off, there is 5 copper plates, when you put on the lights the middle one goes down and makes contact with the 2 right ones, when you put on the brights the 2 right ones go up and the 2 left ones goes down....if eather one of them don't make contact your brights won't go on or off
PS....sides mentioned is when copper plate contacts show towards you.
