Ok before anybody says, yes i do need tires. that is the plan.
Now to my problem.

Ideally id like a set of 225 wide tyres all round (which will be going on 17's), but i dont think i could get them to fit, which is odd because on sunday i saw a SX with a set of 225's (now that i think about it i only checked the rears :x ).

So last night while i was doing my waterpump...again...i decided to fit my new brake discs aswell and what i saw was...well not great news :?

The wheels on currently are 205/60/15

Look at that. The wheel rubs against the shock. you can see where it wore the tyre.
And the gap you see there is with the car jacked up and the wheel hanging in the air

Which isnt really proven in this pic

So tell me how am i supposed to fit 225's on there when it looks asif 205's are too damn wide

they will fit. I'm running 225/40/18 on 8J rims, no problems with rubbing at all, just make sure about the offset on the rims, Think my offset is 38mm

Got a pic :) i was toying with the idea of 18's but i think it might be alittle big for my liking

I don't have one here, but will post one tomorrow for you. Ask Phinx how it looks.

lol - strange. my original wheels had 205/55/15 tires on them, and they weren't close to the shocks.

the gold rims on my car have an offset of 42. i added spacers to them that were 25mm thick. final offset then is 42-25=17mm.

the tires are nowhere near the shocks, and they dont stick out of the bodywork all zephlike!!!

ZEPHSTYLE ROCKS!!!

and maybe the rubbing has something to do with the moertoeness of your springs and shox :?

Standard offset on the sx is 20mm, so they will be like miles away. I checked mine out when I was under the car, with the 8J rims, 38 offset and 225 tyres there's about 10mm clearance between the front shock and the tyre without spacers,

i hear spacers aren't good for drifting... did you get em made or bought offashelf? material? (well, i typed that to try and shorten my question, but now i have to explain that i mean "what kind of METAL", not real material material like your jean-pant)

specifically engineered for my application out of steel.

makes it heavier, but has been successfully tested on the freeway so far till 180km/h.

now to test on the track sometime soon!!!

Do you use your own studs but only longer ones or is this spacer the one that bolts onto the hub with it's own studs.

the adapters have got their own studs with their own nuts (there we go again with nuts)!!! then there are separate studs for the wheels.

225 on 7j.

cool - thats what i want too. but drifting beggars cant be tire choosers!!!!
