Hi Guys,

Seeing some of you guys doing the RB25DETT conversion on your cars has now got me thinking about going the same route.

I have the S14 with the SR20DETT motor in it but now I want to fit the RB in but in all honesty I haven't a clue what is installed for me and reading all the blogs on here has been very educational but half the stuff is in a different language... lol

So I need help in finding out what my total grocery list of what I need to buy so I can start putting cash aside for this whole operation.

Your help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

R30k-R50k without rebuilding the engine. put that cash into your SR and it will be MUCH faster

Hey Rat,

Do you honestly think that SR would be a lot quicker?

Please explain.

Also true...

The bootlid catch is still at the old house and I am still in Angola until the 4th Dec.

For R50K you can build a bullitproof SR ,Knowing now i would have stuck with the SR,Simpler in allmost every way by keeping the original motor in ,
Not much will beat the sound of the RB though

There is guys running around with stupid power on there SR's ,Yes the gearbox will break at a certain power and then it gets confusing and tech to change to RB box but i would go the SR route for 350kw and less

So far it looks like everything thinks it better to stick with the SR20 motor and not do the RB25 conversion....

Are you guys having problems with the RB25 motors or something?

RB25's are are rb25DET not DETT . the RB26 , VG30DETT ETC had the TT as they were twin turbos not single, unles someone has a twin turb rb25..

Thanks Godzilla, mine was a typo and you are correct it is the RB25DET and not the DETT.

More power the better hey ReeceZ or not?

All depends what u want and like, I had SR20DET,RB25DET,RB26DETT,RB30DET and I like the 30. For track use SR20 is much lighter and will be better, all out power and sound but big bucks go RB. Dont think anyone that did the RB conversion wants to go back to SR.

RB25SX... Bro you have just too much money spend to have had so many conversions done...

After going for a drive in a SX with the RB25DET motor in it I am totally addicted, the sound, power, acceleration just too sick for words.

So if I am gonna spend the money on the car to make the whole thing awesome and better then how it was when it was Purple Haze then I might as well have the engine done too.

Like you all said once you've gone the RB route no never wanna go back to SR.
