hey guys, please, there must be some one who can help me. let me put you in my shoes, my wonderful 91 ca18det s13 is becoming a nightmare, cant find engine mounts, oil leaks, redid the whole motor and now the rear seal leaks on the g/box, small problems but here is an issue.....

i stopped at clearwater mall the other day and my car wouldnt start, after 2 hours of battling tada... hope, the is a small silver box (was on the airbox) some kind of a relay, one set of wires to the air flow sensor and the other to this jobby, i disconnected it, played around, re connected it and wala, its alive, but now my car idols 1.3 rpm and f*^% off but most of the times idles under 1000 and sucks!!!! the turbo spools and boosts but the car just doesnt run!!!!! battles, like driving a n/a car, wen this happens i switch the car off while moving, switch the ignition on, let the clutch out while in gear for a "push start " effect then she runs powerful again, idles high, but after afew minutes same s*&%, if i tamper with that lil boxie b4 start up she runs 4 awile then starts her crap, maybe coilpacks etc but that lil jobbie seems to be it, does any 1 have one spare or could i just pop around and use yours to test if its the problem, dont want to buy, then its not the problem and buy buy buy!!!!! it suck, im in the westrand near clearwater mall/westgate area if any1 could please help me!!!! thanks guys

Hi Acemine,
This lil joby thingy sounds like your ignitian module. I had a similar problem, could either be coil packs as you say, or ignitian module, or your crank angle sensor. Or at worst, a combination of the lot. The best would be to go out and get yourself a dictator if my assumption is right, will probably end up costing you less. BUT first make sure you know exactly what the problem is by testing it out with working ones of each before you go out and buy buy buy....

I ended up doing the SR20DET swap coz of this problem and just got sick of paying out and not getting it running right.

Drop transistor i think its called ,the ignition module sits next to the turbo.
