Hey Guys...

It seems my speedo is out... WAY out.

Doing like 100km/h and it only reads about 50km/h.

Now I have the SR20 speedsonsor in the SR box( well I think its a SR speedsensor, got it from ferolli with shanes motor).

Could this be causing the issue? Will I be able to run the CA gearbox speedsensor in the SR box to get the speedo right? Or is it just a wiring mistake on my side?

not sure if the CA one will fit but give that a try first

Ha, I have a similar problem, but with my CA box, Only thing is I think it might be the plastic gear that is worn, it keeps jumping around, and sais I am doing like 240 when im at like 120 or so. Kinda feels like it's jumping round to the music....

Anyone know where I can get a replacement at a cheap price until my SR20 is in?

I have one... but gonna test it first. if I can't use it you can get it.

my sr20 one worked fine, once i hooked it up properly to the wiring harness!!! LOL

the ca18 one should fit fine... i think sokar had one in his sr20 gearbox, or needed to get one or something!

The thing is I did do the wiring correct... well so I think. I mean thats the same way I explained the wiring to you....

But then you have the S13 SR in the car. so its possible it might be compatible with the cluster. where the S14 one might not be?

as far as i remember the speed sensor gear (on the gearbox) is a differant colour for differant diff ratio's and gearbox combo's.

i took the gear off the ca18 sensor and swapped it with the vg30 gearbox sensor when i fitted my vg, and the speedo reads correct.

this is the colours acording to the info i have :

YELLOW is the 16 tooth for the 3.36

BLACK is the 17 tooth for the 3.54

BLUE is the 18 tooth for the 3.70

WHITE is the 19 tooth for the 3.90

RED is the 20 tooth for the 4.11

PURPLE is the 21 tooth for the 4.38

but what I could remember is that both had red gears...

so not sure if that will be the same. will test/replace the SR one with the CA one and see what happens.

I have one... but gonna test it first. if I can't use it you can get it.

Wicked stuff . . . That would be like greatly appreciated. But lets hope it does work for yours, their like R300 at Nissan for that little piece of plastic.

I was thinking today though, If I was able to get like custom components made up of the original components, do you think people here would be interested in buying ?

Do you ahve the SR or CA sppedsensor in? and dit you go and reg the motor in your car yet?

I got the CA sensor in I think. No havnt gone and reg the motor yet....

Hi Riekert did you sort out your speedo prob? "bought SOKAR's SX" I have the same issue.
