It happened again.
My car has failed me again. Lucklly I was in PTA this time.

Moving through traffic at about 5000 RPM I hear a very load bang follow by a load banging sound at the same time both my alternator and diff light come on.
I proceeded to pull over and find this, It seems to have cracked my water-pump and snapped all my belts.

In all honesty I’m really sick of this Cr@p. I have broken enough belts in my time but never has this happened.
Now I have to strip everything again.

Jeez dude, I was sad to hear this!

Wouldnt worn mounts cause this? Cos somewhere something is flexing giving the belts more than they can handle!

No I don't think it has anything to do with the mounts.

I have no clue

Stupid question, where they tensioned properly?

If the where then it was a defect in the belt.

snapped belt. i dont think that would happen with the correct tension... but i've heard of belts snapping!

but a destroyed waterpump, ddddddddaaaaaammmmmmnnnnnn...

sorry man.

seems the pta okes are having bad luck. maybe i shouldn't tempt fate, although my is giving kak too.

maybe we should all sell our sx's and buy 1300 tazz's??? we can then go tray drifting with our FWD.

Seems to me there is a bolt missing from the black bracket and another one appears to be loose.

What?

The one where the bolts is missing on my cover is my fault

And loose bolts? They my look lose but they are not.

Sorry I get really edgy when people criticize my set-up. The car is very well taken care of. I quickly checked those bolts they are fine the missing bolt is a cover bolt.

Now lets look past the bolts and see the split in half water pump any idea's?

Is it a Nissan waterpump for the CA18DET

I have seen that the AM water pumps aren't made for the CA18DET only for the CA18DE, now one might think there is no difference but there is... the T is made stronger to support the radiator fan, else the f-out like yours did... I had one one and it broke the plate off the shaft.

The AM parts are fine if you don't have a radiator fan running of it.

Don't start.

Its a Ca20E water-pump...
Its perfectly fine because the new era skylines run clutch fan's.
Sorry if I'm edgy

I will be switching to electric Fans during the repair thanks to desertrat.

Thank you.

I Really, Really, Really starting to honestly hate this F%#$#king car.

For the past three months the car has only been used about 3 week's in total.

First the pulley failed, then the exhaust gaskets now the water pump.
Maybe I need to fit a rotory there might be less shit

Phinx,

Again I think we all understand this type of frustration, but I dont think people critize you at all. If you dont want unsolicited help fine. But surely all on this forum help where they can. Remember you posted pics to clear up your position, and accept help coming to you only by what can be viewed on a pic.

It happened with me on this same forum, getting involved in an argument which was not good. And I know that I am going to make use of that persons wisdom in feature. 8)

yeah!!!

*chants "DO A ROTARY, DO A ROTARY"*

but remember to mount it rearwards and make the sx lighter - it will handle sweetly when setup properly.
