How expensive is it to recon these turbo's?
Are the kits readily available?
And does anybody have a spare T25 for sale for me?

Hi, this should be in the technical section.
My shaft snapped last year, bought a secand hand T25 from Vlade...bought a kit from Mr Turbo for about R400 fitted it and took it ito Turbo exchange for balancing which cost me about R200. This was late 2007.
Not too expensive if you do the labour.

Great Stuff.
So do you guys rate the Mr Turbo recon kits?
If so then that is great wallet relief for the future T25 bearing reconditioning!
Thanx for that info Antman!
@Mono TurboXchange is very pricey but their work is redoubtably superb.....

Depends what was replaced, My S14 turbo was re-done by Turbo exchange for around the same, only "original" part left of my turbo was the center cartridge, they replace turbine and compressor wheels, turbine and compressor housings, shafts and bearings. Practically a new turbo.

Now +-R5000 is exceptable for a new T28.
