Hi guys Ive been battling for months now, to fix up the 2jz Sx
as mentioned i got one drive in it and it blew, after much reseach there is no conclusive proof as to what works and what doesnt, and its a very common problem ranging from stock to modified motors
But i think this is the solution as this is what has been done on the 1000hp
Black Supra, Im posting it here because the is not a single pic on the web like this and ive searched.....
so what actually happens is the pressure behind the seal cause the ring spring to jump of the seal , spilling oil every where
from the out side the seal look fine intact,
start it up and rev it and here comes the oil
As you will see the drain hole is almost blocked off by the seal, so it
makes sense that the oil from the gear cannot drain out fast enough causing the oil to build up pushing the seal out
you may say that the seal is being pushed in to much, but people have tried that to and it still pops
This solution has to ideas in mind
So firstly you need to mill out the oil drain from +-3mm to +5mm, this will allow oil to escape quicker, but still, subjective because the oil drain is almost blocked with the seal on
the second part is a back up plan,, make a polyurethane insert to that fits into the seal, so it prevents the ring spring from jumping out
put it into the seal ant push the seal in
for Reference purpose, all parts for the 2JZ can be bought through toyota dealerships, here is the part numbers
