Who has chipped their 200sx? Preferably a S13 Ca18DET. How much Kw And Torque did you gain?

Hi, I tried down here in Durban. I had two different boffins try to connect the SMT6-Perfect Power piggy-back chip. They have both failed. The guys from Perfect Power and "The Calibrator" have re-assured me that it can be done. The problem is that they can't (don't know how because of the multi coils) connect to the signal for the RPM which enables adjustment of the timing. I am led to believe that when connected correctly they work very well. Phone them (Perfect Power) and get advice first.

Myself and Chemcool did the Dastek unichip, he has the newest version, you gain about 10kw on the wheels, if you modify a few things together with the chip you may add up to 35kw on the wheels

Thanks. That is quite a nice power gain from only a chip. I might look into chipping my sx. The chip should work wonders with the bigger intercooler and pipe.

Charl, it wont do anything for you because you already have a management system and so forth.....but for 200SX-ZN....upgrade compressor wheel of turbo, up boost to about 1 bar, colder spark plugs, intercooler or water/meth, higher fuel pressure and kasorst with chip...should get you to 130 od kw on teh wheels

I got a 76mm Pipe. With Big Intercooler.

Car is making 161.7Kw @ Fly
And 285.0NM @ Fly

I had the car on fastcar dyno a few months back.

Upgrading the fuel pump to a walbro and fitting a adjustable fuel pressure regulator soon and might put 550cc injectors and the chip!

So hoping to reach about 180kw @Fly?
And 300nm @Fly?

Possible?

As someone who has fitted literally hundreds of Unichips I can vouch for the quality of the product.
What you have to realise is that any management system or chip is only as good as the monkey behind the keyboard and some of the things I have seen have literaly been done by monkeys.

Based on the two "boffins" that had a go at installing, wiring-up and tuning the piggy-back on my car, I reckon I should have rather trusted a monkey or two...literally. I have decided to drive my car up to JHB and have it done properly.

Yes that is life Phinx. If one person experience one slight piece of unsatisfaction on a product, immediately the rersponse is that the product is no good. And then what we do is to try convince the rest of the world that the product is shit. Meantime you are a drop of water in bucket. Unichip works fine for me.
