So I went out for a drive last nite. At an intersection, this Clio jumps the light and a van ploughs straight into it. The Clio spinss toward me and I was thinking.. Could i powerslide around it?. Luckily it stopped in front of me. But ignoring the 'bad omen' I carry on to Steers on Umgeni, meet up with some of my mates. We decide to take a drive to Petropoort. As I'm on the N2, I try and put into 4th... Nothing, gear starts grinding. So I slow down and stop at Petropoort. Little bit later, i'm off. But no REVERSE. Keep trying for 10 mins but nothing. Eventually, I get pushed out of the parking and go home. Stop at a traffic light, now the the beeotch doesn't wana come out of fifth. I had to balance throttle and clutch to take off with out stalling. Basically riding the clutch all the way home and taking turns as fast as I could to keep my speed up. Next morning, I get my dad to push the car back attempting to make a 3 point turn in my yard. Even when the car is in neutral and rolling back it just cuts off.

Right now, it's by Gary's dad, the g/b is gona come out today to have a look-see. Ah... to own an SX

It did, but not very often. My biggest problem is that it wouldn't get into first easily if the car was stopped. It would go in easier if the car was rolling forward.

I’m sorry to hear ReeceZ

But it’s strange, I’m pushing some good power through my Gearbox and its never failed shifting from 3rd to 4th on full power she grinds a little but noting to crazy.

Its just weird because some guys I have spoken to say they go through gearbox's like crazy, I wonder if some year model box's are stronger?

PFB it seems as if the gearbox had run out of oil, we will know more later on. But ja he doesnt have enough power to break the box in 4th.

I am on my 2nd gearbox now with my SX, I keep killing 2nd gear, it still works fine but just makes a noise in second. These boxes arent that strong. I doubt the boxes would vary at all, might get ones that have been looked after more.

I also had that problem when I raced once, abadoned the run, thinking that I broke something. Guess it finally happened.
