Couldn't use Project R cos that's already taken, So, from my favourite anime series Bleach... here's my project. Decided to buy my SX after making a decision that repairing and modding my ex-300ZX would be too expensive. So with a heavy heart the ZX went into the auto trader and six months later I found my SX. I actually have to thank Donny (RBSX) for getting me hooked on this car. I raced him one Saturday nite, I bogged on the start but Donny's SX showed no mercy. But at the end it was one-all. Once again, shot for the run Donny.
Heres a pic
My Z at the Honda Club Dyno day, Figures were abit down that day, but still pulled of a respectable 190kW at the wheels winning a little award for highest of the day and winning the 6 cylinder forced induciton class.

I was lucky to find the SX that I have now, came with tons of extra's like the 63mm exhaust, FMIC, BOV, racing seats, lowered on Tein springs, drilled and slotted disc brakes. So alot of work was already done before I started. Almost a month after getting it I attended my first track day, which didn't turn out quite as well as I expected. Set my fastest lap of the day with a slipping clutch, fading brakes and a bent rear control arm (courtesy of a spin or two) but still managed a 1m 22sec at Hesketh (which was not last place). Then I found my way to Gary's place. According to his dad, all the SXs' in Durban end up in his yard. So here begins my modding adventure, but as I've learnt with the SX, as you're about to improve on one thing, two things break. So this may take a while... Here's some piccies
Mods so far:
BMC airfilter, reasonable gain in power, needed for future mods tho
Walbro fuel pump. BEEEEG difference, one of the best prezzies for an SX.
Lightened flywheel, Bio-slimmed the sucker by about 2.5kgs.
forgot to take a pic tho
Dicktator Wasted Spark, went abit dyslexic here, but it's all about the bigger picture. Although, it helped sort out this 'engine stumble' I'd been having. Gary did the install in record time.
The old FMIC that I got with the car was really bad, the BOV would pop-out when driving in high boost, the hot and cold pipes were pushing against the radiator and bonnet, and worst of all, the IC was mounted just in front of the radiator where there was hardly a cool flow air. When I drove it hard the bonnet would lift on the drivers side because of the pipe pushing up against it.
Here's the old 'cold pipe'
And the 'hot pipe'
I bought my new IC from Charel at Turbo Toys, it's a Delta Fin intercooler. Weighs in at bout 7kgs' which is lighter than the bar and plate type also has better external aerodynamics than its counterpart.
The new shiny IC and piping.
So an update at this point. The car has been untuned for a while now, but all goes well that's going to change this weekend... Will dyno after the tune...
