OK so update time...

Motor bits now with a second engineering shop as SPARTAN MOTOR ENGINEERING does not know what the F!@# they are doing. Hopefully they can sort out everything and I can rebuild. I however got my rings from Nissan but still awaiting the thrust washers.

Ordered a new oil pump through Jerry @ Import Parts as it was helluva lot cheaper than agents.... (R2900 VS R3900). I really have to say that Jerry has only but given me great service. Sometimes you wait a little for stuff to come from the US etc. but never has he ever spun me a story. If he forgot to order something he forgot and he tells me. I hate liars...

List of stuff I am waiting for:

Oil pump - import parts
Main bearings - import parts
Thrust washers - Nissan

i concur - never had any reason to doubt jerry service, myself.

but be careful, you may be banned from that other forum fo saying so!

anyway - phoenix - where is the engine now???

and please elaborate on what spartan did wrong??? i've been had by a few engineers myself, and its always a horrible thing!

i got great engineering done at camshaft center in town - can recommend them!

Well the stuf went in with the following on the job card:

Block:
Acid/Chemical wash - not done
Waterpipe under intake to be repaired - not done

Head:
Acid/Chemical wash - not done - SANDBLASTED on out side
Full rebuild/repair and replace worn/broken parts. - Done but how considering the rest???

Pistons:
Acid wash and cleanup - not satisfactory - definately not acid washed.

Crank:
Cut crank 0.25 - Done but journals not polished as requested

Full balance of all internals.

This all and he refuses to redo anything and I had to pay CASH to get my stuff... hope he is in financial trouble and sinks soon...

Time for a update...

Received this week:

Brand new oil pump - Jerry @ Import Parts... Awesome stuff yet again from them. the pump was 3/4 of the new price from Nissan and is a Nissan original item...

Block properly cleaned, honed, purged, decked... awesome and looks brand new. (will post some pics once it is on the stand.)

Cylinder head - looks brand new as well. also newly cut valve seats, new guides, new seals, diamond faced.

Repaired crank - journals polished, all internals fully balanced.

Flywheel skimmed and preped for the new ACT 6 puk clutch.

Exhaust manifold with diamond cut faces.

waiting for:

Thrust washers.
Time off to assemble.

Thanks man. Will start assembly the weekend. Have a goal of at least double checking the clearances and hopefully finishing assembly of the bottom end. Lotsa work to do still though...
