OK so it has been a long and very hard battle... what a roller coaster ride of back and forth but the news is that the bottom end is built to precision... everything possible checked checked and doubly double checked... never did get my hands on them JE pistons Jerry offered me (man I wish I ould still...) maybe next time... (I hope not...) I will post some pics... Will be taking some on sunday. Just need to sort out the oil pump then I can finish... well that and the rockers Jerry is getting me at a really nice deal.

PICS SOON!!!

ok so still waiting for my parts... :? seems like the festive season has caused some shipping delays.

A small update is that all the oil lines have been replaced with some braided ones and I have made up a new oil return pipe. I had a flange laser cut for the turbo exit and the FMIC is fitted. Also bought a new radio bezel to replace the broken one.

Still to do:
final assembly of motor
New exhaust when motor is in

Some pics:

Been a while but latest news:

Motor completed and new clutch fitted (thanks Jerry)
Gearbox fitted and complete assembly dropped in.
all fluids filled, wires connected and hoses connected.

Motor fires first time (no exhaust and surprisingly quiet)

Some polishing still to do and the final assembly of all the boost pipes etc.
BOV still to be fitted also.

Will post some pics soon  watch this space...

Head was R2500 including all parts and labour.
Bottom end and the rest was R1200 including all parts.

Does obviously not include new bearings etc etc.

The turbo is a T28/T3 hybrid.

Will check how the bikirom shapes up and let you know

Am considering some 550cc nismo/hks injectors, Greddy intake plenum, HKS Hi-power exhaust and an Apexi D-jetro power FC. getting rid of the AFM and tiny 370's but only if my leave a sev pays out from my previous employer... oh and a DE throttle body (60mm)

forgot to mention but as you can see from the pics - I also fitted my Megan Racing coilovers. :D

Hope to have it fully running and ready for run-in at month end.
Thanks for the nice comments - calculated about a weeks worth of sanding, buffing and hi polishing.

My car is finally running and the new motor is so quiet and so smooth. I have to say that I thought the Spec clutch would be more harsh but it is softer than the stock one was and smoother. Will post some pics once I have cleaned up the car nicely... 8)
