Cape Town meet with Toby

I'm going to be in Cape Town during the first week of Jan 2009. Are you Capetonians keen for a meet up?
We could meet up in Cape Town somewhere (like say Century City), or else do a drive to Hermanus! Or even better, I'd love to drive through the mountain pass where the super cars are
The date would probably have to be Jan 4th 2009. I haven't booked the tickets yet, so I'll have to confirm.

Awesome!! Thanks for the great response
Now being a Joburger, it's gonna be hard to suggest a time and place. About the only place I know and is close to where I'm staying is Century City. How about we meet at like a Mugg & Bean or something in Century City (is there one?) at like 10am, have breakfast, talk crap, then do a drive somewhere, through that mountain pass
OH, I won't be in my SX tho 'cos I'm flying down, so I'll just be at the back watching the SX's

How about the parking area at Century City where they had the go-karts, next to where that night club was? Get together there, take a few pics and move from there?

Actually no.
We had a Breakfast run there 2 years ago with about 20 sx's .
We caused major upset . Apparently the security thought all hell was going to break out soon .
The Shell garage is a better spot . Or just behind it . Lovely open space for parking and no worries . We can go for a drive and then Have breakfast ? Isn't that better ?
I've been on a few runs and it seems more like the thing to do .
Worcester and back makes for a lovely long mountain pass there and back . or Hellshoogte via Stellenbosch .
It is way better too if we make reservations somewhere at our destination for eaty eaty after drivy drivy .

Ok, your idea is great Magic - how long is the drive? Sounds like we might just about make it in time for dinner

The shell garage is at the mall
. Its the only one there actually , on the side . I have just been to Hermanus yesterday . What a lovely trip. About 150+- from the mall at Canalwalk to there . 2 mountain passes included .Could be a bit too far for some .
We could easily make a restaurant booking for the guys at one of the restaurants . Stellenbosch is closer though and so too Franshoek. Not too sure about eating arrangements at these two destinations .
There is also the infamous Car museum just outside Franshoek .
Really good to experience .Cost per entry+- R 60
At a real stretch , we could pull off , set up a braai spot and braai ! This would of course be very informal and I can guarantee wheels would get dirty with dust !
