It's about R6400. Off the top of my head (no pun intended):
- engineering of head
- engineering of block
- engineering of crankshaft
- new bearings and piston rings
- new bearings for conrod small end
- new pistons
- manifold skimming
- new manifold nuts
- all the odds and ends I mentioned and new timing belt
- gasket kit
There are more expenses to come. Hopefully not "school fees", as Calibrator calls it.

I'd say about same as stock, not more, not less
If you plan to do a motor to handle some performance upgrades I'd say go for some forged ones.
VeeCee has some Arias forged pistons that are from a honda motor, they needed to be modded but so far its the cheapest I've seen PM him for details... Think the price now is R3800
I'll post details soon how to get your CP pistons from the states as soon as mine arrive, that and a full cost break down.

Yea guys, please bear in mind that my rebuild is all about reliability and not power. I will only be running stock boost, etc. on this engine. No mods unless necessary (e.g. the pistons only because I had to rebore the cylinder). Even if I had to put a bigger turbo, I would turn down the boost to keep the boost standard.

and vlade, the pistons are from arias, not from any old crappy honda. they're just a similar design to the honda ones, so they work in our sx motors!!!!
