Hi,
Anyone have any advice on starting a newly built CA up for the first time?
I have read a lot of opinions - including removing oil pressure switch, and turning by hand until oil comes out.
Running car between 2500 rpm to 4000 rpm for first 15 minutes... etc.
How do I make sure everything is lubricated property before I crank the engine?
I will be using Castrol GTX (non synthetic) oil as my run in oil.

Start the beatch. dont rev it tho till you are happy with the oil pressure and tempreture is up. If you assembled it the right way you shoud have oil every where already. Turning it by hand is a good way to make sure your cam timing is right and that your pistons is not hitting the valves. Expect your lifters to be noisy for a few secconds.

So we started it up on Saturday, after double checking everything again. Cranked it without the spark plugs and fuel for about 10 minutes.
Came to life shortly after that. Everything seems 2000%.
Sounds great.
Now just need to have the boost pipes made up.
Thanks for the info everyone.
