Turbo Size

Hey guys I was wondering how big a turbo you can go without
getting a bigger intercooler on the CA18DET ? As I am now in desperate search of a turbo since mine kakked this weekend.

If I where you I'd go for a T28... simple easy mod. Did it on alfy's car, goes like stink!!

Try SA Autoparts... Otherwise you can get one from Mr Turbo too.
Uhm I think you can also try a few import engine places, but you might have to get the turbo reconned.

Hate to burst yo bubble man, turbo exchange just upped it to R3850 excl vat. anyone know the CFM on these turbos compared to a Garrett T28 (which is R8900 btw

Is the T28 a direct bolt on or do you need a manifold???
What power gains can you get. BTW I think my turbo is on its way out.

Straight bolt on. our oil and water feed pipes need to be bent a bit but thats it. everything else just bolts on no mods.
Well to judge power with my but dyno... I would say quite a lot from the stock one.
Car pulled stronger form the word GO... so ja!

Well for easy access to the turbo and for looks the topmount is pretty cool!
your just gonna have to get new feedlines for the turbo. and the IC piping will need to be modified to fit.

and alfy doesn't have a boost gauge... butt it feels like its comes in around 3k ish....

you will also need a new downpipe and a lot of heatshielding for the ABS unit!
