Hi all, the exhaust manifold on my CA18DET cracked and I'm urgently looking for another one! Do any of you know where I can find a secondhand one?

If its not major. Why don't you consider welding it...

Well there's a piece of metal inside the manifold wich guides exhaust gas into the turbo. You can see it when you look into the manifold and that is where its cracked...but it looks as though the crack might grow to the outside of the manifold! Dont wanna take any chances with welding would rather replace the manifold...

You'll find that 80% of the manifolds crack there, its not too major, but if its leaking, then change it. How much you willing to pay?
Might just have one for you. Just fitted a branch manifold.

80%?? wow! Well if its just gonna happen again to the new manifold then I might also go for a branch manifold! I've contacted Viper for an aftermarket piece but they need the car to build it...I live in Upington so this is not really possible right now. Do you maybe know of a place that has branch manifolds in stock for the SX and how much would that set me back?

The cracking usually happens when you run the car a bit lean, which isn't good.
Rezlo has them off the shelf, but don't think he has stock, rather contact him directly price, well check his site

Cracking is a very big problem with manifolds in general, I hear people don't recommend SS but mild steel for manifolds, unfortunately most after market units are SS. One of the guys here run a S14 with a SS manifold from X-Force and he is happy. I'll soon be able to comment on the SS units, Rezlo did say that he has been using them for years and never had a problem.
I'm not a fan of Viper, they have done one or two manifolds for the S13, when I inquired they guy did say its a bit pricey...by pricey I guess R2000+ for that I would rather buy an SS item off the shelf then to wait for them to do it and stuff up my car up again.
