joh man. If its HG you will see signs of that in the oil.

How do you know for sure that its over heating? Is it the reading on your temp gauge? or what?

It's the reading on the temp gauge and that the engine is very hot when you open the hood!

Well it should be hot when you open it. And hook up another temp gauge to get a second opinion. Maybe the temp gauge is faulty.

Flush the radiator again and the engine.

Are there no other signs? You say your oil looks fine? no white stuff in there?

Also do a HG test.

This one sounds like there is one little stupid thing not connected or wrongly connected or something like that.

Yeah that's probably the case
Got hold of a compression tester, so I'll test that soon...
Maybe I should put some anti-freeze in, maybe that's the magic mooty my engine needs

Ha ha yeah I know of people cutting the brown wire. I dont like cutting things, so thats not the way I do mine. And anyway when you cut the wire it opens the lights halfway. I dont want mine halfway so I do it manually!

Very easy. You open your(hot in your case) bonnet, then you will see two brown knobs. Then you turn those knobs till you get the right height you want them, and voila there you go.(but every time you switch on your lights it will reset back to the old position.)
