Thanks for these replies.

I was going to import but then read I needed to apply for Import permits for each item BEFORE I even order. Is this true? Can I get away with just ordering and deal with the red tape later? How much red tape is there?

PS. There were two accidents involved here. In one my mother reversed her Camry at high speed onto my bonnet. You should see the photos.....

huh? aint no red tape involved .. you buy, they ship, post office on behalf of sars calculates duties and tax, you fetch and pay.. i have practically rebuilt my 300zx with spares from america, bought from nissan dealers such as courtesty nissan in texas, and ebay, and never had i needed a permit for anything.. you will only need a permit to import a complete car 8)
