i HATE nissan stealerships!!!

i went to Nissan Bruma this morning to find out how much the water inlet aluminium pipe would cost me, because i broke it this weekend!!!

1. i say its for a s14. the dude had no clue. so i said 200sx 2.0 litre. he immediately rolls his eyes at me and tunes they will have to order whatever it is. (already i wanted to hit him with the sample part i took with!)

2. he has no idea what the part was for. even after i said it was for water inlet. he called his manager who said it goes with the thermostat. NO IT DOESNT!!!! i tried to explain nicely thats its on the other side!

3. i had to tell him its on the head not the block - i'm surprised that he knew the difference!

4. he eventually found the piece, and he quoted me 950-00. is he @#$%!@%#@#$%%&^(^&)&*^(#$% insane??? its a little piece of cast aluminium.

my loyalty to this brand is almost gone!

anyway - does anyone have any RWD sr20de parts lying around??? i need this to complete my build???

or does anyone have any contacts at nissan (86???). the part number is 1106069F00. its the water inlet from the radiator.

oh ja - then i tell him to print me a quote, cos i'm gonna try to find a used one.

his reply:

"Never, never. you will never find one. where you gonna find that part, you dont even see those cars on the road."

so i took the quote and walked out.

i didnt want to tell him that i know tons of sx owners in this country, and that the part that i brought in was a second hand item that i had FOUND, and that i'm quite sure i could get another one, although it might take time!!!!

BASTARDS!

VC....dude....your new engine is almost identical to the nissan sentra sti 2.0, don't tell them it's for a sx, I might be mistaken but I am pretty confident you would find your part at midas or auro zone.....if you say it's for a sti....

The FWD ones point the wrong way. We had a look at that option already. We would need a 90 degree pipe and another 45 degree bend to get them lining up again, but it is an option as a last resort.

nah - the s13 pipe and the s14 pipe are different for one simple reason.

nissan revised the design of the pipe to accept a banjo bolt for the turbo water return line. this meant that they didnt have to run the turbo water return line around the back of the head!

so i was trying to get the banjo out. it eventually sheared off, and left half of itself in the threaded hole. i drilled it out, but i damaged the thread. so i bought a drill bit (15mm - R180, never should've done that!) drilled it out and then i got busy tapping an insert into the hole.

it was all going well until the threaded insert was about to seat itself at the bottom, and the hole cracked all the way down.

so now i need a new one!

thanks draco - i will try midas/autozone for an sti part. it would be interesting to see what they cost there!!!

stoopid nissan dipsh!ts!
