The mesh that is infront of a FMIC, the STD black wire on the bumper, if I put silver mesh would you still see the cooler behind it or should I just take it off. I dont want the cooler to be like WOW and in your face but I want it be be visable if you look there, kinda like the EVO. If I do take it off what about all the bugs and stuff that I hit whilst driving, would they damage the cooler fins??

it's unlikely that bugs would damage your cooler... what's more likely is stones flung from peoples tyres... that's what you should worry about.
i think sliver would be cool... just not chrome. but im sure you wouldnt do that.

I would definitely put mesh on. My intercooler looks a bit bad.
Colour I think is personal and depends on your car's colous aswell??? but i would use black mesh... my car is white

I have black mesh but the cooler is not visable

, that is why I was thinking of that stainless mesh or something

??

johann's SX had a white mesh. Saw it at our last event
Didn't look to bad at all. But then again he also had a black bonnet., very nice

I prefer the "std" look for now, especially when some chappie stops next to u with his daddy's M3, u blow him away and he donno what hit him LOL...

Been doing some calculation and the std mesh holes are far too small. They are restricting the air flow into the cooler and are creating turbulance before the air hits the cooler.
I would love to run no mesh but the damn stones are a bastard.

leave the front end the way it is...
cut open the bonnet between the lights...
make the hole look pretty using some fiberglass...
mount a smaller intercooler horizontally in front of the engine...
mount the top of the radiator to the back of the intercooler...
seal the sides of the V-assembly...
be the talk of the town because you have the shortest boost pipes ever!!!
oh ja - there will be very few nasty stones that could hit your cooler!

Only problem with that is that u will be accused of being a scoobies he-bitch and almost look like the imfomous black sx
I thaught of doing that but the heat from the engin bay would be a problem....unless u somehow build a small firewall between the IC and the engin bay.....could work...

Heat from the engine bay becomes a problem only when the car is standing still.
Mounting the cooler as shown is not lekker, as the hot air from the radiator will also go thro' it. i assume the radiator is still in the same place.

ok - its late and i'm feeling a little sarcastic - so here's a pinch of salt! *hands over the salt *
hot air from the radiator?
the air is forced through both "radiators".
the water radiator will have at least one fan on it sucking or blowing air through it.
and you could do the same with the intercooler.
but you guys go ahead and put those intercoolers in front, blocking all airflow to the radiator and causing cooling problems. the v-mount solves both issues, and a "firewall" is created by sealing off the v-mount at the meeting point of the two coolers!!!
