where would be the ideal place for a fan switch? top or bottom hose?

Not sure but I would think the rad inlet hose as that's the temp of the hot water coming from the engine?
Or does anybody else have a better suggestion?

A bit of advice.....use the coldest switch you can find, as far as I remember it was a volkswagen switch, switches on somewhere in the 80 digree mark....others only switch on in the late 90's...witch is almost boiling point.....

i had a bmw 3 series switch on my ca18 which gave me two temp settings, 80 something degrees and 90 something degrees.

i had 2 electrical fans setup, the lower switch would turn on the first fan, and the higher temp switch would turn on the second fan!

Wow thats cool VC......but any fan switch switches on at a certain digrees and switches off again when it reaches the colder digrees......switches on at say 89 digrees and off on 80 digrees for example....and gues what.....it's the same switch

More advice, if you run 2 fans, use a 30 amp relay, most fans use about 7.5 amps each, so u connect the switch, from there to the relay and the relay splits to the fans.....switching them on and off as the temp switxh goes on and off......and guess what......it's done buy the same switch

Ha ha ....can't help mocking VC.....

dont be a tjop draco...

i meant the same switch unit turns on the first fan at 80 something, and then turns on the second fan at 90 something.

that means i only use one fan while the temps aren't that high, but if it gets too high then both the fans run at the same time!

Here is mine, marked in the red. Riaan from Snail Conversions installed it and welded it into the metal housing. This is however the top pipe!?!?

It's been working fine for 2 years and my temp gauge is always sitting at exactly half. No more, no less.
