Torque settings on big ends and mains CA18det

Why does the manual indicate the torque settings so low... or is this right:

Big ends 41 - 44 nm
Mains 44 - 54 nm

It seems very low...(its not a golf)

i would have to go the garage to check, and i'm not doing that right now...

yes its not a golf - but its the same basic principle man! its just another engine hey!

yip it is that low... even a opel corsa engine is higher... but it is correct...

But remember when wet torque'ing it its much more efficient at that torque level...

lots of things are more efficient when they're WET, i reckon its the slipperyness!!!

Apparently the cradle or brace that goes over the main caps on the CA disperses the load evenly over the mains.. Therefore less torque is required.
