Nissan 200SX Club - South Africa

Hi guys!

Frank is very keen on learning to drift (to put it mildly), and so he's come up with the following option:

Venue: Zwartkops Skid Pan
Set up: No tires! Just a wide open, free skid pan, just for the SX club. We can set up the pan however we like.
Date: 26th August 2006
Time: from 12h30 to 16h00
Cost: depends on how many of you sign up. It's R3000.

I *really* *really* *really* need you guys to pitch in on this, please! If we can get enough of us together, then the cost will be reasonable (e.g. 6 cars will cost R500 each, 10 cars will cost R300 each). Now historically, I've never had more than 4 cars pitch up to a skid pan event, so this will be a stretch. You can bring another car if your SX isn't running or you don't want to risk it. You can bring your mates along with their car, which will reduce the cost. Just bear in mind that we want to start practicing some basic drift techniques, so we'll set up the skid pan for that purpose.

If you are keen, or you can convince a buddy that is keen, then please let me know ASAP (definately before 04/08/2006), so that I can figure out if the cost will be reasonable, and if so, I'll need to book and pay for the event (so I'll need to collect the money before we loose the available slot). If I don't get enough responses by 04/08/2006, I will consider this a non-event.

Let's do what SX owners are meant to do.... DRIFT! And be mechanics, so that we can DRIFT SOME MORE

Looks like we might just have enough people! Could all interested parties please send me your name, location, and maximum amount you're willing to pay to my cell: oh seven three, four seven nine, three two seven three. I am anticipating that it will cost about R500 per person, but maybe less. Meanwhile, I'll check if the booking is still available (if not, we may have to move the date).

Well it seems it's gonna cost us a sum of moolas if we divide the 3g's we need for half a day's worth of drifting at Zwartkops.....what Toby suggested is lekka...let's save the money and get a quiet spot somwhere and do our own thing....anyone know of a place maybe?????

Can people with say Rx7's join in the drift (practice) ?

Sure, any car can join. It will help to reduce the cost. However, I must say that I think paying R500 for a few hours, during which you will have to wait your turn while 7 other guys take theirs, does not sound like value for money. We may have to find an alternative venue - if anyone has suggestions, please let me know.
