Aircon not working(gas???)

Post by HancoB »

While you guys are here and helping...my aircon...wel it doesnt mork...all the fuses are A-ok, I checked the ones in the engine bay and the ones at your feet inside the cabin. If I pop the ac switch the light doesn't come on and it sure as hell is not making the lovely hot summers day a bit cooler.

Someone told me that if the gas is oppellallas then there is a low pressure switch automaticaly turning off the ac...BUT gas don't just disappears out of a closed system and I checked all the pipes and found no leaks.

What can I do to get sum cold air running through my hair on a hot summers day...damn that sounded gay!!! Ha ha

All i can add is that the air con light should still turn on even if there is no gas.

the people next to the road runs a dye through the system that shows you where the leak is.

I've heard that their equipments are not able to pressurize the system properly.

Well then if so what should be done then? I'm in CT and I need someone to fix my aircon and not some choppie next to the road who is using his moms hair dye to find a hole in a pipe.

then what should be done is easy
open yellow pages
look up aircon place
drive down to them
ask them to fix car
get in car
drive home

ok not to be funny...but I dont let just any "aircon-mechanic-bloke" work on the car.

Not a lot of people know what they are doing with a 200sx so I'd like someone who actually knows what he is doing to fix it!!

Ha ha got it fixed. The gas was empty and I went to a guy next to the road.

He charged me R50 to test it for me and to see if it is a electrical fault or just gas...so he said no its just gas. Then he filled it up and said it would cost me R250 for the fill up and R50 for the test.

But then just after he filled it up it stopped working...so he said I dont have to pay him for the fill up coz its not working!! So I just paid him R50 for the test.

Than I drove away there and just around the corner I switched the ac on and voila it was working fine!!! I got a fill up for R50! HA HA

Hehe, glad you got it sorted out. I was going to suggest Bosch as they have UV leakage testing equipment and they fixed my aircon thermostat (in the footwell).

Why waste an almost good engine, rather replace the engine now and sell this one to help pay for the new one.
