i think i'm gonna start this year!

nice pic dude - did i take that one???

and to everyone else - i think Charel is spot on. the rock is a good venue, and has shown lots of support.

and the wednesday night practice platform is ideal, as it goes hand in hand with the idea of a drift school...

when you arrive on wednesdays the idea is to practice one particular aspect of drifting, and to vary the practice session each week. that way we can build a set of really good drifters that will take drifting in SA into the future!

so who's in???

also - Charel, whats happening with getting a drifters only evening, like tuesday or thursday or monday or friday or more!!!???

VeeCee, glad to see you in buddy! :D

Ja, we can be verry greatfull for the opotunity for the free practice sesions, you know that other places, even overseas, you have to book way in advance and they charge you an arm and leg for that, and then you still have to wait in long q's, because your not the only ppl there, and only does drifting....

So go on your knies and say THANK YOU!!!!!

VeeCee, about the drifters only knight, pls let me know more about what exactly you mean by that.

I think what VC meant was a dedicated night / evening just for drift practice. I remember chatting to Vince on Wed night and he said that he'd been waiting to get onto the track since 5pm and eventually after all the Oval track racers left the track it was almost 10pm...

I know that there are cost implications in terms of lighting and sorts, so I can understand why all the different codes have only one night of practice. However, in saying that, maybe a disiplined form of tracktime ought to be established to avoid any misconceptions and understandings.

As for more drifters attending, I fully agree and even though I'm not into it, it's just great fun going there and throwing your car around in a "controlled" environment.

So to all you non-drifting members out there, lets go and support our guys!!! You okes can count me in...

If I gave any more support, I'd be a wonderbra... hahahahah

LOL,hehehe!!!Good one!

Ja, about the practice nights, It does cost allot of mony to run those lights, and to keep ppl there till we leave, like the bar, security ppl ect......

So I think, the only way we can change that is if we get enough drifters, that we don't all get practice time, then maby we can arrange for a dedicated drift practice night.

So get you asses on the drift track!!!!

Well I reckon at the very least we should try organise a time slot until we have enough momentum for a whole night.

Soon we will need to have a braai n raai to sort out my 'electrical' issue, its a kak feeling when u have the tires and a track but the car is not 100%

no problem vlade,

but charel and I and the rest of the guys are really pushing the envelope at the rock. so we are seriously encouraging as many people to attend the practices on wednesday evenings as possible.

so thats a call out to all of the SX owners on this forum. the rock is benoni area, many of you have been there already...

practice is on wednesday evenings, with a predefined course laid out differently each time, so that we can hone our skills in as many aspects of drifting as is possible!

please, we urge you guys to come through to the rock on wednesday nights!

Wazzup??!! 8)

Dice> you did very well WED at the practice sesion, and that with a car you never drifted or drove before for that matter!!!!

Ya, this is the drift challenge...... from me to you (200sx owners)..........bring your ride to The Rock, and come try your hand at some drifting, or just come support the guy's practicing, you might just be like me, once you see drifting, you have to be in the middle of it.
Its a bad side of me, ones I'm at the track and see someone drifting, even if I dont have Tyres or petrol to burn, I WILL take my car out for atleast a couple of laps...............thats untill someone have to grab the key's out of my hands, so I can atleast get home with the amout of tyre left.(Thanks Dice :x )

@Stephen> Nice to see you there again, and good going with the long donuts.
Don't warry, if it did'nt feel right on WED, nextweek you will be kicking ass!! But I'm glad you know where to start training, not just going flat out on a circuit, but building your skills on a comfortable pace....It will Pay of, trust me!!!

thats a great challenge charel, it would be great if we could get a regular good turn-out every wednesday.

that way more people can decide after being out on the track if they like it or not!!!

@stephen... at you can do donuts dude!!!

yeah man... just keep at it.

i can sort of drift now, and it only took me months and months to learn.

its what made me so jealous of peope like jonothan, charel, sokar, chris, etc...

they picked it up quickly.

some people just have the talent, others have to work really hard to learn the talent, i guess!!!
