The CAS changes the ignition timing. Its at the right point when your timing is at 15deg

Hey Richard. I recently set the timing on my CA. But what really got me was that there are only markings and no numbers so you have to know which markings are which degrees. The first marking on the far left is 5 degrees ATDC, then the next marking is TDC. 15 degrees is the second last marking on the right which is where you'll have to set it to...

Hi all

Funny thing is that i did set my timing to the 2nd mark from the right as the manual and you guys told me to, but when i got it back from the dyna they retarded it a sh*t loud. Could my timing ligth be stuffed?

After i did the timing i marked the position of the CAS and when i got it back it was turned almost fully anti clockwise.(have to double check that cause that would be advanced?) The timing i did by putting a piece of pluglead between nr1 coilpack and the plug onto wich i then connected my timing ligth.

thats fine, cos some people like to measure on the induction loop at the back of the head. but this gives you a double reading, or something to that affect.

i set timing on saturday using the induction loop, and i thought it was on 15 degrees. the car wasnt running so well, so i then set timing using a plug lead on coil 1, and my timing was actually on 0 degrees.

go figure!

I thouthg that my problems was almost sorted cause the car went nicer after the dyno but today it started hoesin and poeping again. Think my head might be skimed a bit to much? Can that explain them setting my timing that way?
