Semi's up front?

Post by Vlade »

Was thinking a way to solve my tire rubbing issue up front is to get a set of Semi's with a lower profile...

Good idea / Bad idea ?

i'm running semi's on my car since the drift competition.

they are fantastic for grip, really. no more understeer issues, unless it pisses down with rain.

but you definitely need a lower profile on those tyres of yours.

something like 225/45/16.

what profile are you currently running?

Try Mintys tyres in fisagie street, they sell the Toyo semis....for the 17" 45x235 they asked me around R1500 a tyre, I don't know what they would ask for 16"

Shir semi's are expensive ATS R980 (Dunlop I think)
Tiger Wheel and Tire R1800 Yokahama

And general tires up front are all above a grand

I'll rather try the wood + hammer solution.

seriously - you have too much rubber up front.

i have a similar problem because my car is so low, but i only have 225/45/17 size tires there.

thats why i suggested the smaller ones, but why do you need semislick???

that will only get you in kak with the police and in more kak when it rains, which has been happening considerably lately???

I was looking for smaller tires, and instead of just buying tires for the heck of it I thought semi's will be better, the rain doesn' t bother me too much my car is a weekend car anyway. Police yeah, they are street legal, but to explain that to them is another story.

And semi's will help with the understeer

i find lots and lots of 205/55/16's

all the time.

almost every luxury sedan car has 16" mags these days. and they run 205/55/16!

no problem for those - just lemme know how many and when you're coming to pick them up!
