Castrol TXT softec, now called Castrol SLR softec. This oil is fantastic, brilliant cold starts, heats up and stays at tempreture, never seen oil temps of more than 90degrees.
R50.00 per liter.

When i spoke to Hannes Minnaar i asked him what oil does he think is best and he said he uses shell helix for every one of his cars.
Although he screwed me around so much i think he's a giant D00S so not sure what to belive

Personally never liked Softec, It was a glorified Castrol Edge but that’s just my opinion
But I am going to steer clear of Castrol products for the time being because most products are not truly synthetic or so I hear.
I just want to play the field maybe there is better out there that we are missing
Helix Ultra sounds good because if it good for a high comp V10 Ferrari its good enough for me..

hulle is halvedoose - because a full doos is at least still good for something!

i use shell helix fully synthetic. not sure what the viscosity is, i always just grab the closest silver and i'm on my way!
i've also used the one in the blueish bottle, but i'm not sure if its as good because its quite a bit cheaper!

the blue shell bottle is a semi synthetic, the grey one i think is a full synthetic
Phinx, i think it goes both ways, shell is good for ferrari, porsche and bmw etc use castrol.
and yes, not sure about shell but mobil one and royal purple oil is naturaly synthetic. castrol is engineerd and chemically put together to be a synthetic

uhm charl...
the word synthetic implies that the end product is no longer natural.
to synthesize something means to artificially create a product that is the same or almost 100% similar to a natural product, using man-made ingredients and processes.
you know how banana nesquik doesnt really taste much like banana, its because the flaour is synthesized.
synthesized flavours and smells are called esthers!!!

The best there is, full stop.
BMW use it their e46 m3.
I have heard from fellow sx owners that after a few laps on killarney they had foaming with the Castrol edge products.
Not with txt.

The foaming is probably a blown gasket and not the oil
I've been using Edge for the last couple of years, fairly happy with it, used Shell Helix Ultra before but its rather pricey, I currently have Edge Sport but its a little to thin for my liking.
And as most people know, I don't nurse my car around

I use Castrol Edge Sport... Its thin but works for me...
After heavy driving I find a few drops coming from my engine...
Also something thats very dangerous is that my oil stick is infront of the cambelt cover and gives all wron readings.. can I just move it back to where it supposed to be?

Umm, nope.
It was the green or the white drift sx's (s14's)(one owner) that did king of the mountain...
Both cars were fine, this was during testing suspension around a track that they discovered this.
