FMIC size for CA18

So what is the ideal FMIC size and piping size for a CA18DET?

I've noticed so many universal kits and different pipe sizes from 2" to 3" and some with different hot and cold pipe diameters.

Is there any concensus on this?

I strongly suggest buying "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell, the book covers all the calculations needed to find the correct intercooler size as well as turbocharging as a whole.

No, I do not have the patience to write all the calculations out but here are some links to help you out :D

I'd be interested to know this as well.

From what i've read 600*300*76 seems to be a popular size... maybe someone can give a more definitive answer tho.

I've been looking at some ebay intercooler kits. They look pretty good for if you are on a budget.

You can get a 600*300*76 intercooler kit with 2.5in (63.5mm) piping for R2500 shipped if your lucky. Check it out:

I've got the book. Just haven't had the time to actually sit and work through the details yet. Maybe some day... 8)

How much lag do you guys experience with the popular universal 600x300x76 coolers?
