Petrol use..

I need some advice if someone can give me some....

I had a radiator and a gearbox problem a week or 2 back, had to drive in 4th for a while and then got that fixed, radiator got fixed aswell but the car did run very hot....

As far as I can see the HG is not blown, no water in oil, no overheating.... all seems fine....but, when I fill my tank up and then drive I get about 130 km on the 1st half of the tank, as soon as it hits halfway it seems that the petrol use is back to normal, I get about 200 on the last half of the tank. How big is our tanks....55l?

Also, my petrol guage shows the car is very near to empty, when I fill it it only takes about 40 leters....the light does not come on but it shows it is very clos to empty....

???

When my light comes on I have about 10L-15L left as well.
60L tank iirc

Did you change the fuel pump perhaps?

Im getting about 400-450 km/tank

No but I know my tank is buggered, the previous owner tried to hack a AM pump in there and broke the tank baffle now the thing runs out of fuel when I corner hard.

i get the feeling the wiring on your fuel level sensor has undergone some kind of event.

do you still get the same mileage?

hmmm, so you think the level sensor is fine, and all its wiring is fine, but you had to run in 4th and it got very hot.

i dunno man, those symptoms seem unrelated!

Actually I know the level sensor is not right, but why would it fall heavely for the first half of the tank and the second normal?

Somewhere somethings rong, I haven't tried to keep on driving when the fuel level is low....maybe I must try and see...

Seems me and you have simular problems, the only diffs is it seems you get less km's than me, have you ever driven till the tank is empty?

damn thats really strange, iirc with my CA I got more than 500km on a tank.
just after the SR I'm getting less, like 400km, ok its far from stock mind you, and the fuel pump was changed and after that the level is different, seems when the light comes on(thats when I fill up) I still have more than 10L left. So probably could get 450km or more per tank, emptied.

I wouldn't call my car standard.....even when it was, petrol use wasn't much better...actually if i think of it I use to get 500km on a tank with highway driving at 120km/h, from 2 weeks back it doesn't matter...
