he guys how many of you knew that part of your inletmanifold is water cooled or should i say is part of the cooling system!! found that out the hardway!! my car kept on over heating everytime i drove her hard and it is a result of my inlet manifold gasket leaking so every time the boost kicks in the boost creeps into the cooling system so the presure relese cap ontop of the radiator releses water as a result of the presure and end up with air in the system as of the boost and result in an airlock!!! first i thoudht it was a headgasket but the air that comes out the radiator does not smell like carbon instead it smells like unburnt fuel!!

All std cars have water heated intake manifolds. Its to help the atomisation of the fuel. If you disconnect/block that water feed the car obviously makes more power at top end due to the air being cooler, but the car will bogg down at low rev.

I replaced that gasket but still had the same problem!! but the inlet gasket was part of a bigger problem but did not solve it completely!! it turns out i also blew my head gasket as it was!! put the head gasket back and did all the nity grity stuff in a new personal record of 2:30 hours!! and made it to westbank for the meeting!!

all is good now no more over heating now the only thing is to re torque the head after 200km!!
