The sound you describe sounds like a blowing manifold to turbo gasket..like blowing on a piece of folded paper? Does the pitch of the sound increase with boost?

Could it not be a simple boost leak? Maybe check your piping. Does it sound like air escaping?

sounds more like the turbo blades touching the turbo housings???
a rebuild could be in order!
same thing happened to mine.

aah - ok!
the ppprrrrrttttt description didn't translate properly in my stoopid head!!!
LOL - misfiring could be hundreds of things!
do the basics first - give it a service!
if it still misfires then start searching for strange things. check the codes on the ECU. check the power transistor, coils, CAS, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, the injectors, the injector resistor pack, the AFM, the water temp sender unit, the wiring to all of those good things...
also check that everything is grounded properly.
and GOOD LUCK, may the force be with you, god speed, and all that!!!

Check obvious first:
- spark plug leads, spark plugs
- Timing (lumpy idle or not)
- fuel pressure - replace fuel filter in process
- turn down boost and then check frrrprprrrr - sound gone?
It's not cool if your car sounds like your rice crispies cereal...
I must admit it sound like a fueling issue...
Be mindfull of surge/detonation...

Maybe he means make sure that spring at the end of the coil is making good contact with the spark plug?

Altho I guess those leads to the coil packs could be checked, hey veecee??

i guess...
but i immediately associate the word "leads" with the less abreviated version "HT leads".
and if he was using them, then i also would want to find out why and how, because i really dont like having my coil packs on top of my plugs, and i would love to move them, but it would look really frakkas!!!
