Is there anything else I need to know when fitting an adjustable FPR?
Something perhaps that I have to keep in mind? Any specific way of adjusting the feul pressure? Although I replaced the stock FPR the symptoms on the car are excactly the same, but I just feel the need to make sure I understand the adjustable feul pressure regulator in full.

No Gary not at all, no duty cycle change. I HOPE it is not then altered anyway and causing me my excisting crappy engin????

I must be honest the FPR falls into the catogory of nice to have, but yes easier to work on it than the stock one and I did suspect the stock one before.

Personally the ran fine with the old FPR so get the car to run fine again with the old one before you start changing parts or you will never know where you stand.

Read this walkthrough -> Install and Adjust fuel pressure regulator

I managed to bugger it up when I installed mine but I'm sure you'll have better luck.

Now Jon, thanks again for that read up. You know what, the engine is running much smoother. Yes there is a slight delay then the revs goes, but but but, once going the engine goes really fine. So by installing the adj FPR the right way helped a lot.

The engin is still not idling, but surely that is something different now. Can you hear the optimism in my text???

The slight delay when throttle pressed can only be bacause engine not tuned properly.

Now I need to search for the idle problem.

May be I can try and adjust the timing with the cas to see if there is any improvement. Will do that later today or tonight.

Sometimes slightly higher fuel pressure can in fact produce a better or at least more consistant spray patern from the injectors. So there are some benefits to them I guess.

Chemcool do you have a upgraded fuel pump yet? If not I would recommend you do that asap as well.

Doc G, yes I think or I hope I have. It is a Bosch bought some months ago and I beleive it is a good quality high pressure like or similar I hope to wallbro?????? As a matter of fact, the author of that related article suggested to set the pressure at 36 psi, which I did. The manual says 2 Bar=plus minus 30 psi. So yes it is slightly higher.

What are the symptoms of running a too high fuel pressure. Tested mine its about 3.8 Bar. Manual says it should be 2 Bar. Car doesnt rev up well. But once in boost feels better. When have less than quarter tank fuel, goes much better. Looked at the FPR, seems to be squashed. When should boost come in on stock standard S13.

 Mine was even higher at around 4 bar after I installed my adjustable FPR even though the gauge I used read around 2.5 bar. Once sorted the car pulls smoothly through the rev range.

Standard, boost should come in at around 3500rpm and pull till +- 6000rpm.

Standard, you should get full boost at 3000rpm & feather off at around 5500
