Hey guys what is your max rev?? My max power is at 6000rpm so dont go higher than that. What parts wear or could be upgraded to give more rev?? I know my motor has done 90 000Km with the new turbo, the motor was redone when it all went on. But 90 00km is quite a bit so think it would be a bad thing to do valve springs?!

Ummm ja can be debated... On warn valves, you'll start to see valve bounce at higher RPM, its not too expensive to change it...

The stock cams is only designed to run with with in the stock rev band, above that they start to loose ground...

Pistons is the real week point in the CA, dunno what RPM they can handle...

Why would the pistons be the weak spot with regard to rev?? The limiting factor in is the valve train.

They just weak man

Id say the conrods will be the weakpoint, and you would have to swap to solid lifters and titanium valve springs

The CA18DET bottom end is g0od for about 8000rpm the weak points are the Gudion (Spelling) Pins. The stock turbo will start dropping off after 6000Rpm so it’s not really worth it.

I know of people in AUS uprated there valve springs switch to solid lifters and using forged piston running till 9000 Rpm with a turbo to match.

Mine runs till 7500 Rpm in first before RPM limiter and 7700 with every gear after that.

Gudion pins I can go with, pistons um ... no. What did you do to get yours to rev that high Phinx?? I still develope boost creep at 6000rpm, I was silly and did a top end run against the new M5. Anyone changed the valve spring?? What did you change them to??

Well, Gary, you can't really complain about boost creep at 6000rpm when you're hitting full boost at around 2500rpm, now, can you?

Stock engine should produce max power at 6400rpm, so there's no point revving beyond that...

No I dont complain, only driven at 6000rpm in 5th twice (thats way off the clock). But it would be nice to rev to 7000 even 8000rpm. I watch a vid of a GTR34 and the guy was ending it to 9500rpm, now thats a real sweet motor, no reason why a CA cant rev that high, remember the CA is a RB-2 cylinders  .

It runs fine, No headwork , But I fixed all the screwed lifters very easy job.
I run her to 7200RPM in every gear my boost tails off at 6200Rpm stock T25.

No boost creap at any RPM running on stock boost, When december come's she's getting an equal length mainfold , T28 GTI-R, ADJ FPR and defussed Down-pipe.

Cant wait to she how she will Rev but our car are able to run that high with-out an issue
