Best suited radiator

Hi guys,

I have radiator problems again. I think I may just buy a replacement radiator.

I have already installed a second hand three core radiator, but it seems to be leaking on the side. If I take it out again, it will be the third time I send it to the radiator man to be fixed.

The radiator I have is a horizontal flow vs the original 200sx vertical flow radiator.

I can get a vertical flow radiator from Rezlo.com, but I don't know how many cores it has.

Has anybody installed different radiators, and what works better, horizontal or vertical?

I fitted a Griffin radiator, horisontal flowing one, works 100% and it keeps a V8 cool.

Sounds like an option, Cost more or less?

Installation difficulty? Location of hot and cold water pipe in/outlet.

Just want to find out if its similar to the location of the pipes on the original.

Lastly, where did you source it?

I have a spare radiator, if you want, R300.

Thanks Toby...I guess you are referring to original... What condition is the radiator in? Do I need to recon it? Post pic if you have... I may be able to use that radiator on my next project, also CA18DET (but 1400 champ)

Thanks VC, I have an extra CA18DET already, I don't have a box though... Just out of interest-how much you want for your old toys??

SB the radiator is in good condition, original, yes. It's just been recon'ed and pressure tested at a cost of R300 (hence the price)

I'll think about the radiator, thanks Tby. Seems like a great buy. I have to fix my current problem first though... and for this I need a big core radiator. I was contemplating your radiator, but I know the core is thin and will cause overheating problems when I start boosting.

they have different layouts, My radiator have the inlet on the passenger side and the outlet the driver side.

Check summitracing's website, you can order it from them or you can give the part number to a V8 shop and they can get it for you. The core is 57mm thick if you wanted to know.
