Why rob the bank when you can rob the place that sells the Tigs Yeah those machines are hugely expensive, but they do a lovely job, that is if you know how to use them
TIG welders are not that expensive if you dont want to weld Ally. You can get a TIG to weld everything except ally for around R1500, that is including the AC/DC inverter, the torch and electrodes, all you need is a bottle.
For FMIC piping I think stainless is the way to go. Problem is the 4x4 trailer that is half finished. Used Alumiweld to date, but that is too expensive and very difficult/time consuming... Any experience with the Thermadyne Tig welders anybody?
Another nice tool is a Plasma cutter..... number 2 on my wish list.
I have lots of experiance with TIG welders but not the thermadyne.
Why dont you just buy a AC/DC inverter from Ardendorfs or Macro for like a R1000 then the torch, pipes and pressure regulater from Ardendorfs for R500. The thermadyne system was like R2500 last time I checked.
I have a plasma cutter at work, fantastic little tool. Again for the price just use the TIG welder to cut, it also gives a very neat finish.
New MAF dead, luckily Bonus gave me another 1 Then the battery dies.... R400 for new 1 fitted yesterday arvy. Will check in later today 2 see if they made any progress since...
So they put it on the dyno, only to realise that the new MAF will barely handle half throttle. Next thing huge oil leak, takes them an hour to clean the dyno Got there soon afterwards on Friday mid day. Get it on the lift... only the oil return pipe from the turbo to the sump cracked. Luckily it happened there and not on the road.... no oil = no good !
Took the dud AFM back to Bonus this morning. Pleasantly surprised at the service. The owner himself phones around to find me a Z33 AFM, and bargain on the price so I don't have to pay in. AFM arrives a minute later..... brand new!
Got a nice new 3 ply silicon hose return pipe. So Monday morning 1st thing, things will happen.
