Nissan 200SX Club - South Africa

Ok here goes.

Not sure what it is or caused it.

My sx with CA18DET just died while driving. i think i heard a rattling noise just before that and it lost all power.

It sounds like the engine got no compression at all when turning.
Oil is good , fuel good, water good and temp normal at time of incident.
Car got no big mods just bigger intercooler and exhaust rest is stock.

Any input appreciated.
Maybe it is time for a decent rebuild.

Check your compression first dude.

yea gonna have a look when weather is clear as it is raining cats and dogs here. and no garage atm

check if your cam belt snapped, couldve snapped and bent valves, thus now no longer have compression and wont start

ok guys cars engine seems ok valves fine cambelt fine plugs great.

AND i have decided to pull the engine to overhaul and fit my branches and new turbo after rebuild on engine .. now i need to budget for all the overhauling parts.

Thanx guys but i have no clue what it is and will have to pull the engine and open up to see.

But first i have a shoulder operation and then only i will pull the engine. When i have both my arms working again.

Before you pull you have to make sure it's mechanical, otherwise you redo the engine and it still doesn't start

Your CAS might have just kaked or something. what ecu fault codes are you getting?

make sure you got

fuel pressure
spark
compression
CAS trigger
your temp sensor is working and still plugged in
injectors pulsing
proper ground
working battery
no ecu fault codes

If you need help to diagnose any of the above just shout

I will shout when needing help. But for now I am in hospital visiting the butcher.

Fuel pump fuse?

Already checked it working perfectly
