Re: R32 GTR REDONE!!!
Ja this whole sale was bs dude! Were has common decency gone? But to be honest I found it very strange that he took so long to finish his project then he sells it so quickly after completion. My car will not go within 10km of alb after hearing this story and a few others to be honest. Its just a pitty that he wouldn't have the decency to try rectify this as it was a lot of money for a dud car that im sure he knew hsd many of these issues.

Hey Nick, that pic of the stuffed gears, it doesn't look lekker. It looks as if they don't align and some of them looks a bit skimpy?

Re: R32 GTR REDONE!!!
So just got off the phone with ALB and the following has been put on the record.

And so the fun continues. The seller left the employ of ALB under very bad circumstances.
The work done on the vehicle was not paid for by the seller.
A large proportion of the componentry fitted was knockoff Chinese crap that failed.
They take no responsibility for the work done.

Always so shitty when this happens. At least we know who the guy is. Leaves such a bad taste, this dishonesty. Seems to be the culture in South Africa nowadays. Anyway, that is spilt milk, suppose. Good luck with the build/repairs and hope to see you at one of the runs.

Re: R32 GTR REDONE!!!
Right... So entire interior stripped out and off to the trimmers. Should be out for about 3-4 weeks.
Decided on suede covered dash, suede and leather seats, suede door inserts, black roof lining and dark grey carpet. Should be nice. Add to that the near new centre and gear lever consoles and it's starting to get close to an interior that we can live with.
Still chasing the injectors around the world, new gearbox is in, coils have arrived, replacement hubs are on their way, replacement harness here, R33 GTR Brembo's being refurb'ed, disks and pads on order and management has arrived.
Still now end off the tunnel on diff, wheels and body harness.
Oh well, some progress is still progress!

Re: R32 GTR REDONE!!!
Right... Update time...
Hubs are in,
Wheels are on (LMGT 1's)
Dash complete and back in
Management installed
Rebuilt the tray supports in each of the quarters (they had been butchered for no reason) and welded in new trays
Straightened the front radiator support, cleaned ip the body welding and rewelded
Replaced all the intercooler piping
Replaced oil cooler and oil cooler hoses
Build oil cooler mounting bracket
Coils, plugs and injectors installed
Polished and installed the repaired, flowed and strengthened plenum
Installed new aircon unit and replaced the aircon loom (original loom was cut into a hundred pieces)
Replaced ignition loom ( numerous power jumps were found in the body loom)
Relocated battery to boot
Repaired the damaged bonnet hinges and returned bonnet to original orientation
Initial Dyno run had GTR motor delivering around 500hp on 1.2bar boost. Only one problem is it looks like the motor has previously detonated on cylinders 3&4 (detonation particles on the plugs) resulting in massive blow-by with smoke pissing out the cam breather. Joy of joys!!!! What I truly feared has come true. "Dickhead" has toasted the motor prior to selling it. We found that he stuffed the catch can full of crap to try and disguise the smoke.
Purchased a "low mileage" RB26 this pm. It's on it's away to the workshop. We are going to pull the head and sump and check I out. If it's as good inside as it looks outside we are going to run it with stock internals for a shirk. If any signs of wear we will rebuild with forged internals.
After the motor the front seats are back to the trimmer (not 100% happy with the fit), adjustable camber control arms to be installed, install flush mount bonnet pins (unless I can find a reasonably priced carbon bonnet), quick respray of the entire car and rear window rubbers to be replaced. After which we will run it till the diff lets go. I don't suspect it will be long. The diff is slapping like a prude at an ass pinchers convention.

Re: R32 GTR REDONE!!!
Some photo's of the tail of woe...
To start here is how we found some of the damage caused by his royal highness (from now on refereed to as "Sir Monkey-dick")
This is how you fix a corner that has been smacked
Heres the "repaired" radiator support
One of my personal favourites "Sir Monkey-dick learns to weld - another view of the front rad support
And next is the "correct" way to route the oil cooler hoses involves buying the incorrect length of hose, not re-terminating it to the correct length, then carving a hole in the structural support for the rad support and running the hoses in a giant loop....hmmm
A picture of one of trays in front quarter that was butchered to run the intercooler piping... incorrectly
Torn rad support
Brake booster "may" have been leaking for a while
Evidence of a slight issue on passenger from hub
Detonation evidence on plugs 3&4
and now some of the fixes
Work in progress... Battery tray
Work in progress Intake tray
Rad support repaired, sprayed and brand spankers rad installed (bye bye heat issues)
Intake repaired and polished
Engine bay back together
Interior In
Dyno results (on the wheels)
And unfortunately the result.... horrid blow-by!!!
Should know by next week if we are rebuilding or not...
