18" or 19" for the S13?

Just curious, which size will fit the S13 better?

Obviously 19" will LOOK better, but are there any down sides?

What is the max width on the rim and tyre you can go on the front for instance before it touches when you turn etc.

Are there any other factors to consider?

I hate it when a sx looks like the bodykit is drowning the poor car cause the wheels are too small....

hmmm...

my 17's rub the inner arches, but thats cos the sx is so low!

your's is more of a street car than a track car, so i say go for the biggest possible!

19's would look wicked wicked!

I would go 15 inch or maybe 16 inch.

Because Of a problem zone on most nissans.

Wheel bearings ....

But keep us posted on what you chose

yup bearings are a problem, i did research this weekend past. cant get them from places like invicta or bearing man. those nsk bearings are not listed in the catalogues, so the only places they're available is from nissan.

that works out to over 4 grand for 4 bearings. about a year ago i priced them. about 1150 each for the fronts, and about 900 each for the rears!

i know that bigger wheels and tires would be heavier, but would they be that bad as to screw the wheel bearings?

Well From friends and Family ...

It seems the nissan wheel bearing are not very strong to begin with (referring to 200sti) , I have two family members with 200sti's and 17 inch rims and a wheel bearings failing are a hot topic..

And it only started after the Rims where swapped, but maybe the 200sx is has stronger units

Well to get a decent 18 or 19 some 5-lug hubs will be a MUST.

A set of 4 with Bearings included are like $430+shipping. So that justifies it if bearings alone are like R4k from Nissan.

This is still like R 3500 then your not sure about import duties.

But I wouldn't mind nice 5 Stub wheel hubs with brembo calipers :o

ow I forgot to add "horay to the power of silicone

brembo calipers
BIG $$$$$ for these. My new discs arrived on Sunday (still waiting to fit them) but even with my 225mm x 22mm disk and the Z32 calipers you cant complain about breaking.

To my understanding the calipers don't fit behind the stock rims .

So you have to upgrade

Well I know the Z32 caliper fits behind stock rim with stock discs, not sure about the Brembo though.

the brembos made specifically for the 300zx would fit the stock location, but i doubt it will fit behind the stock wheels.

thats the gran turismo kit that i am talking about and its big! so probably not.

the brembos off the skylines and the 350z's wont fit the stock mounting locations and will need adapters to fit!
