1992 SX for sale (white)
Hi Guys
this is a feeler, i want to sell my sx. Due to the reason that i simply do not have time to spend with the car and i actually want to take as much as possible capital of mine for a new venture. I will post updated pictures later.
Car made 386whp @ 1.4 bar boost (could of been more) the idea was to make it reliable and able to run to 2 bar and 500whp...but i have not gone so far and i have not raced the car. Bought a stock car and took the conversion from there.
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6777
Quick specs:
New import motor and gearbox bought and fitted for conversion(low km)
Custom gear ratio's for top end
Bottom end was fully balanced at Fullrace to 10 000rpms
New imported oil pump and water pump
Bottom end was done with forged rods and pistons. (Broke a ringland on one piston)
Custom clutch and double plate flywheel (Cost R7500)
Head was reconditioned ans.
800cc Detuchwerk injectors, 2X 044 Boch pumps, Stealth pump in tank with another 255lph including A1000 fpr imported (all original parts)
Allot extra import parts, Arp head studs, Cometic head gasket and exh mani gaskets
Brand new special comp Garrett turbo (also high speed balanced) and a Tial water cooled waste gate
Dictator X2 (special order box with 2 cpu's)
Allot of extra's to mention.
Fixed up the body recently and the interior is still stock and i have done allot of additional stuff like new tyres ans.
Car is located in Centurion, I am looking at R 55 000 as it is now, or R65 000 fixed. (The conversion alone cost as much if not more)

True, i like the car allot, but whats the use of it standing around. I have only driven it about 700km since the conversion and 95% of it was just commuting around and pampering it in traffic. I have a daily car and a bakkie, and currently looking at getting a bmw as well....too many cars and not enought time to enjoy them. The SX is my favourite stillDraco wrote:Sad to see Eugene....

Haha Draco, im going to hand it over with the car to the new buyer. I have not fixed it yet, but its not a big problem for me to fix. (Got all the tools)
Another quick option for a purchaser is to purchase a import motor, keep the boost at 0.6 or max 1 bar and it will last ages. The stock motor will be able to handle more but then you need to make sure the co's are in check. My map for 95 pump gas would be sufficient, i had the car at MRD and Sybie coetzee for different maps.
@Gary, nope Forged bottom end, fully balanced to 10 000rpms ans...

I still think it’s worth it tuning a car, at the end you have a cheap car with cheap parts. If you buy a new car you lose more on interest and value depreciation than what we spend on these cars to make them the we which we like them. Unfortunately you also have to pay school fees which are caused by weak points in the system and then ultimately a break down. But once that is sorted you’re ready to go!

whats broken @ 55k price?Grobblere wrote:Car is located in Centurion, I am looking at R 55 000 as it is now, or R65 000 fixed. (The conversion alone cost as much if not more)
Re: 1992 SX for sale (white)
I agree that one has to tune the car, thats not disputed, spending R7000 on pistons, then another R2000 on special berings and so forth, not even 10 000km's down the line something goes wrong and you do it all over again..and lets face it...somehow shit goes wrong, does not make sense..

Means new piston set unless you have the same make/ size piston.
