S13 sr20det not idleing

Ive got S13 with sr20det Motor. The problem im having is as soon as the car get n little bit hot it does not want to idle
and struggle to get anywhere and this proble started a few week ago so i think it is overheating but the guage says its
still fine and on the radiator u can actualy put your hands on it without burning. I had the car at one of my friends who
works with cars and he said the spark plugs im useing is wrong that is why it happins. is it possible for the spark
plugs to be the cause?
