Help needed : Spark plugs, filters, CAS and questions
Posted: Fri Oct 11, 2013 2:54 pm
Howdee all, a little help here please? I know these things have been gone over a lot, but I can't seem to get the results from the search function these days...?
Doing a service, but the parts I got from Autozone aren't what I expected.
Spark plugs: wanted bcpr6es --> dude said bkr5e-11 is the same from his 'system'. 5??? Can't seem to find much info on this in a CA
Oil filter: wanted z197 --> dude said z 282 is the same. Will it fit?
other parts match.
He told me I could bring back tomorrow if I'm not happy, but I don't want to test the new ones and them telling me they don't accept used parts for returns... Also probably going to wreck my current oil filter in the removal process.
Anybody with some insight please?
Then. Saw the key broken off of my exhaust cam when checking the CAS. Tried to guesstimate the direction, but it seems that the key changes position with every time I aim it to where the key used to be. (which is funny, I thought the splines will hold it in place - splines look OK though). Who are the CA18 gurus here nowadays that can quote me on fixing this? I normally do my own repairs, but I can't bend over like I used to - must be an old toppy thing! Have some respect.
